Sveta
Sveta Zhavaronok is now 15 years old. She is studying in an orphanage/boarding school in Rudinsk. Here is her story:
When I was 10 years old, my mother lost her parental rights. Her life was consumed by alcohol, as she stopped working and began to drink a lot! My younger brother and I were sent to the orphanage. However, we were not there long; some adoptive parents took us very soon. I was so happy! But my happiness did not last long. I had a difficult time adapting to the school curriculum and I began to receive bad grades. As a result, my new parents sent me back to the orphanage. I felt abandoned and useless. I didn’t know why all this was happening.
I wish that all adoptive parents would take care of their children and not abandon them. If I could have a second chance, I would have studied harder to do better in school. Hope for the best is dying in my heart. My dream is to become a chef. I’m scared to think about life after my graduation from the boarding school, because it will be much different. Still, I believe that I will meet good people who will help me. Please, I need your help!
