In November: “Rudensk orphanage”

Greetings brothers and sisters. I want to tell you how our trips to the Rudensk boarding school went. The IMG_2850first thing I want to note is that before our arrival, the guys wait for us on the street every Wednesday. Despite the frost and snow, each of the older children is looking forward to seeingIMG_20231208_110414_197 us and help with the bags. As one of the guys said, I like this time, that we can help you to carry bags with equipment and most importantly, just talk to each other. When we went to the school this time, the children talked about how God helps them when they turn to Him. The guys also said that they like to sing Christian songs.

IMG_20231208_110403_569This month we discussed the themes of pride, revenge, envy. Why we chose these topics is that we talked to the administration and saw how the guys communicated with each other, and we decided to take these topics. The theme of pride. When we asked what pride is, only a few people could define it, but during the meeting many children were able to see and understand how pride can ruin people’s lives. Bright pictures onIMG_20231208_110409_286 the slides and simplicity of explanation helped the children understand the main point, and even after the lesson, and later, while returning to the car, the children said: – I am a proud person. Other teenagers asked to pray for them, so that God would give them the strength to change and not offend others. The next topic was revenge. And for many children, if not all, this topic is relevant. One child said: “When it’s difficult for me to forgive, I begin to take revenge.” And we understand that there is pain, which can sometimes move children to cruelty and they IMG_2650start take revenge. Our goal was to show how revenge can destroy people’s lives, how lack of forgiveness leads to revenge. There were many questions, how to forgive your parents who left you? How to forgive a friend who betrayed you? All this shows an inability to adapt to difficult life circumstances. And speaking on this topic, we were able to give answers to all the concerns of teenagers. We see that even the children’s prayers were completely different this time. We believe that good seeds were sown. We believe that this is a process and in this process we all need prayer support. When we came for the third time, we talked about envy. We can immediately1000008356 say that many teenagers saw themselves in examples. The guys said that they often envy and often dream about what other people have. Often because of envy children admit that they took things without asking. We talked about IMG_2661the fact that there will always be consequences for such actions. We said that envy destroys people’s lives. Envy is like a growing snowball; if you don’t work with it, then life will be difficult and not easy. Dear friend, as you noticed, the topics we discussed this month were simple and relevant. Typically, parents help children overcome every stage of adulthood. But since these children do not have parents, we, as mentors, help them learn to overcome bad habits and already formed reactions. We are grateful to God for the opportunity to minister to these children and also to speak about God’s love this month. Thank you so much for your prayers and for your participation. May God bless you!
