Every image given in the Bible is an example through which God wants to teach us something. Reading the story of Deborah again and again, I saw her passionate desire to fulfil God’s will, to be obedient in everything no matter how hard it would be. And as a result the Lord changed the life of the whole nation.
That’s impressive! We pray and dream about Belarus without orphans, the country where every child has his father and mother. We pray that kids’ lives will be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The beginning of spring in Rudensk was very active for us. The children took part in sport activities. Everyone wanted to win. So we noticed that some kids were happy and some were disappointed when they lost.
But it turned out to be an opportunity to tell them what we should do when we lose or meet any difficulties in life.
As we expected, there were more meetings for the girls and boys in Rudensk. We were talking with the girls about love and being in love and the difference between it. We also discussed how they should behave when they are on dates. There was one meeting called “Diets”. Together we tried to find out how to choose a healthy diet that won’t do any harm to the girls.
At the same time the boys have been taught how to manage their money and how to take life seriously.
There was a meeting for the boys where we talked about shaving. For many of them it was a little bit embarrassing. But we try not only to teach them moral values, but also to give them some practical advice for their life. Unfortunately, orphans don’t know the usual things that are ordinary for the children in families.
We had a meeting called “Life without boundaries” where we showed the video about Nick Vujicic, a man without arms and legs, but full of love to God. Kids could see the difficulties Nick had to go through, so that now he could speak with people telling them that they are beautiful and loved by God.
We tried our best to show children that we are not able to change our past, but we can change our future.

Hello Dear Friends!
Time flies so fast that often I do not notice how everything has changing around me. For example I do not notice how children that we come to visit grow older. So sometimes I take a pause, look around and evaluate what I have achieved and where should I go next?
Thus this month we decided to evaluate what have
we achieved in Rudensk orphanage. For this reason this month in our meetings we talked on the subjects of “Why do we need Bible?”, “Why do we need faith in God?”, “Why do we believe in God?” When Dima raised the subject of faith he started to ask our team members these kin
d direct questions in front of orphans. For example he asked “Why do you believe in God?”, “Why your faith gives you?” The answers were very sincere because Dima did not warn us what kind of questions he is going to ask us. Therefore the children listened to the answers with extreme attention 🙂 After that Dima explained to children why he himself believes by using photo slides and Bible passages.
In addition this month we talked on the subject of love. Although we do not celebrate Valentin’s day it was a great opportunity to explain to children that there are different kinds of love
. We hoped that it will lead the children to think about their relationship with each other. We spoke bluntly that some people love only themselves. But the true love is this that you are caring for the person you love!
In our last meetings we watched an interesting Christian movie that raises the subjects of loneliness, suicide, teenage egoism, divorce of parents and the subject of Christian hypocrisy, when a person behaves well in the church but outside the church lead immoral life.
Time flies, children grow older and change. Sometime they change to the better side but sometimes unfortunately for the worse side. But we try very hard to do everything we can to help orphans to choose what is right so one day they would be able to meet God.
We thank everyone who prays for us and helps us!
A Christmas programme was held in Rudensk this month. Children could s
ee and understand why Christ
came to Earth and how difficult it is to live without God. We were very happy to see children and especially teachers who had an opportunity to hear gospel. After the performance children got presents. Every child always waits for this moment! That’s so pleasant to see happy children’s faces! That’s why we are thankful to those who hel
ped to collect these gifts and participated
financially! Thank God for your work!
Besides the Christmas meeting we had “stag -parties” and “hen-parties” this month. Girls were learning cooking. They could show their worth in “Culinary science”. We are glad that girls already have certain abilities, but we decided to enrich their knowledge sometimes. At the end we prayed for each of them could be a good wife and mom in future. Boys were discussing the topic: “
Success and prospe
rity in life”. Guys were talking about what you need to do to be successful and how to use it in practice. Many of the boys will graduate from the school this year so in our opinion they need to get a good and simple piece of advice. For example, how to use money correctly and how to have good relationships with people. We shared our personal experience and it was like a key to open the hearts of teenagers. As the biblical example we took the life of Joseph. The conclusion was the fact that Joseph was very successful because God was always with him.
In February we are planning to devote most of our meetings to such topics as: “The Bible is the word of God”, “What for am I studying the Bible”, “the Bible as a life guideline” and also to add watching films based in these topics. We ask you to pray for these meetings not to be useless!
Greetings, brothers and sisters!
I thank God that during all this times we were able to fulfill the great God’s command by serving orph
aned children. This year was a special one, we believe, that the seed that we planted in the hearts of orphans b
y means of prayers and our ministering will continue to grow and in due time will bear much fruit in the form of changed orphans’ lives.
The last month we were able to visit the children in the Rudensk orphanage five times. The last month of the year is the month of expectation of the birth of Jesus Christ. During December we talked with the orphans about Advent – the time
of expectation of Christmas. As a symbol at each lesson we lighted a candle. Children liked a lot the moment of lighting a candle because each candle had a specific meaning. The first candle symbolized the fact that Christ has brought Peace to the earth. It is especially relevant to the orphans because most of them do not have peace nor with their relatives nor with God.
The second candle symbolizes Joy because we do not need to earn salvation – Jesus Christ gives us salvation freely! With each meeting we had more and more children. Since they already knew that we would light up the candles they started to ask in advance that they would get to hold the candle this time. At the third m
eeting we talked about the fact that Christ has brought us hope. In my opinion orphans especially need hope for a better life here on earth and for meeting God in after life.
The fourth candle symbolizes God’s love which God proved in Jesus Christ Who suffered by bearing the punishment for sins of those who would believe in Him. At the last meeting which took place on December 25 we lighted the last candle which symbol
izes the long awaited Holiday – Christmas! The morning we had fellowship in the church but the afternoon we decided to dedicate to children of Rudensk orphanage. We sang the songs, had fellowship and watched a cartoon about Ch
ristmas.
If God willing, on January 15th we are planning to bring to orphans theatrical show with giving away of Christmas presents. We hope that it is going to be not just entertainment show and presents but another opportunity for children to hear about birth of the Savior.
We are thankful to God for opening of hearts of orphanage administration so we can continue to minister to these orphans! Please pray for the orphans and orphanage administration so we could continue to minister to orphans and God in this place.
Greetings, everyone! We got through yet another month of our serving in Rudensk orphanage. That month
was full on various events.
We were covering a “Loneliness” topic at the beginning of the month. It is so easy t
o feel lonely and unwanted among the people, where even among the crowd the one can feel abandoned and without any real friends. We were talking that even if people didn’t have a place for one in their hearts, he was always in the heart of the Lord. We told those children how important they were to God.
We had contests on the following week. We normally don’t have a lot of time to talk with everybody personally, despite the fact that they are looking forward to it; so, we make various contes
ts in order to make our communication more productive. We are trying t
o fill out their need for communication this way. Besides, during these contests children could see our team, our behavior and reaction in critical situations, in stress, and in losing situations. Our Lord loves us, and we showed this love to the children. These contests helped us to express through actions what’s inside us and our faith in Him. These orphans saw not just mere words, but actions.
We also had all-boys and all-girls meetings this month. The hot topic in the boy’s group was communicating with girls, where
placing your partner over yourself was a key to success. We also talked about practical express
ions of love and caring. Our all-girls group had a chat with professional make-up designer, who taught them to take care of their face beauty and make a good quality make-up.
We also started advents, the series of meetings before Christmas. We were talking about the contribution and sharing of Jesus through his birth. And the word “peace” was the first one brought up. We talked that we got a chance to live in peace, if we follow Jesus Christ.
Thank you very much for all of your support! Thank you everyone who keeps an orphan problem close to their heart!
