In October: “Rudensk orphanage”

Posted: October 23, 2012 by Dobr9k in Rudensk

This month was very happy and blessed for us! Serving Orphans in Rudensk boarding is not on the same place. If at the beginning of last month, we have experienced that most of the guys that we always kept in touch and were always coming to our meetings, have left school and gone to different cities, then today, our room is filled with more and more willing to hear about God. Now the new guys who previously ignored the communication with us come to us even . Glory to God!
In October, we have tried to diversify our program. We were two main themes: “Born to reconcile” and “True friendship.” At these meetings, it was suggested that Jesus was born in order to give people peace. We also talked about how it is important not only to look for a good and loyal friends, but also and most try to be a good friend to someone. One of the meetings we have dedicated to sports. We had the opportunity to organize a children’s sports team play, which very much unites us and the kids. Usually not all the kids want to participate in sports, so they were held personal communication, in which the boys just could share their experiences, triumphs, and ask questions. And, of course,on one of the meetings, we were divided into separate groups of boys and girls.
At a meeting with the girls, we were talking about what God has placed in them the beauty and femininity. We talked about how important it is to monitor the appearance, but more importantly, to develop the beauty of our heart. Boys were just talking about what real men should be strong and courageous. In addition, they must keep the commandments of God.
Thank God for this wonderful time!

In September: “Rudensk orphanage”

We went to Rudensk orphanage every week this month. We spend time with children there: talked to them, sang, played, shared about God and also we gave them wise advices for future. Last Wednesday we organized meetings for girls and meeting for boys. At the meeting for girls we talked that God created a women to be unique, he gave her different talents and abilities. Also it was suggested to compare a woman with a book, where each page is unique.
As for me, boys also had an interesting evening – we talked about football, studying and about Arnold Schwarzenegger. The theme called “Value of the moment”: that was an example to tell them about the moment that could change their life – the moment of repentance. In conclusion we reminded them that each person uses time to advantage or in vain. And only he/she is responsible how to use time.
It’s always such a joy to see fruit in our ministry. One boy started to read Bible regularly and pray. Every time, when we come, he says he’s prayed for us to come. You can tell about changes in his life not only in words, but in deeds. He is one of the most attentive listeners and active participants. I’m truly worry about his life.
Thereby one more month has passed in our ministry in Rudensk. We are grateful for your help and support in our ministry!

In May: “Rudensk orphanage”

School year almost is over. Vacation is coming and in the nearest future children leaves the school.
I am thankful to all of you dear friends who have support and pray for us over a year. I would like you to pray together with us for the children during their vacation time. Number of accident is increased over their vacation time. I would like also to write you about our ministry in Rudensk. Well, for a start, I would like to tell you that we have visited the orphanage five times. We have focused on God’s view to a different part of our life. We have conducted meetings with the children on themes such as: sin is truth, life of Jesus Christ, eternal life it is gift from the Lord, relationship with God, your life it is your choose. Finally, we have invited the children to repent their sings and praise the Lord some of them came up to us at the end of the meeting and said about their repentance. We have five children who have repented their sins. We have started to work more deeply with the children who had repented. We use in our ministry with them material of Bible correspondence courses. We have work with the children and help them to stay firm in the Lord and do not become weak in their faith. I would ask you to pray for them that God would bless their faith and they would not abandon God. There are a lot of temptations and people who want to destroy their faith. I ask you to pray that God would strengthen them spiritually and help them keep their faith in Him till the end.
Dear friend, we have done this ministry for year and we could able do it thanks to God’s mercy and unconditional love. And thanks to your faithful partnership. Our hearts are filled with gratitude to God and you who support us. We thank you for your open hearts.

In April: Rudensk orphanage

In April, as usual, we visited Rudensk every Tuesday. We watched the film “Save the Life” several times and held a sports competition. We also celebrated Easter during one of our visits.
The children liked the film as it tackles issues that are most important for them such as bullying, outcasts, losers. Some of the children managed to draw the right conclusions and that gave us hope.
Children are always eager to play sports. That’s why they enjoyed the sports competition greatly. They got fountains of emotions.
We also had a good Easter party. The children learnt about the holiday’s origin, about the Resurrection. At the end of the meeting we posed questions to the children and they surprised us with their answers in a good way. For example, they managed to name all the Egyptian curses. Some children were interested to continue the discussion. It was obvious that God has started His work in their hearts. Praise the Lord!
Some children behave wildly in the orphanage, I have to admit that. They always mess with each other, get into fights, smoke and drink alcohol. There are “aces” and there are unpopular children who become scapegoats. When you see this your heart is bleeding. The children who are bullied don’t get a lot of support and I wish so much to share with them the good news about their best Protector.
The orphanage life makes the children believe that they are destined for failure. And what is worse they adopt this vision. It is my ardent desire to break those prejudices. I wish that God touches the hearts of those children so that they could understand they have a great and strong Patron above.

In March: Rudensk orphanage

Posted: March 28, 2012 by Dobr9k in Rudensk

In March our team, as always, on Tuesdays went to boarding school in Rudensk. On the children’s request they were given the topics “Нostility” and “Rivalry”. On the 20th of March a sporting event was held, also on the request of the children who wanted to even the score after the previous event.
Topics have been particularly relevant for some guys. In a confined space of the boarding school there’s often a problem of rivalry. The older and stronger teenagers set their power over the younger ones, hurt and bully them. In response, the younger children often grow closed or vice versa, aggressive. They develop a heightened sense of self-preservation. Therefore, we try to show the children that the relationships can be built in a different way. Friendship, mutual assistance, and readiness to help (from both sides) must be the basis of the communication.
The purpose of our team is to show the children that they are loved, and may be needed by someone, first of all, by God! And, of course, by us! We hope that the Lord will grow the dropped seed, and it will sprout into the souls of the children!
We see some positive changes in the behavior of many children, and in their communion with others. It’s nice when the kids come up and say that ceased to argue with a teacher, someone made it up with a friend, someone began to pray before going to bed, someone reads the Bible, someone really wants to go to church.
It’s especially striking to hear the child’s words: “I pray for you!” It’s wonderful to see how the Lord disposes the children to communication, opens their hearts to the perception of His Word!
