LOVE 4 THE CHILDREN

Greetings to you, dear friends! I want to tell you about trips to the Smilovichsky shelter. We are very happy that we can visit the children who are there. Now there are very few of them, so communication is very homely and warm. The fact that there are few children in the shelter is very good. Because as soon as the new children get there, it means that they were taken from the family for some proven reason. And when you break up with your family, it’s always sad. For example, two girls and a boy are now there, because they no longer have a mother, and with dad there are serious problems. And therefore, listening to their story, it is sometimes difficult to find the right words to console them.
But we believe that we can find comfort from God. And one of the topics we talked about with them is the topic of fear. Fear is very different. And sometimes people are afraid not only of certain things, but also of more abstract things – for example, fear of the future. But this fear goes away when you begin to trust God. Because he holds everything in his hands and controls everything. During the topic, we discussed David, who, with the help of trust in God, was able to defeat Goliath and save his people.
In addition, we had the opportunity to do creative work with the children. Children painted clay figures. During creativity, we always have the opportunity to talk with the children on topics of interest to them. And besides this, we give the children the opportunity to try something new and unusual.
At the end of the month we discussed the feeling of insult, using the example of the elder brother of the prodigal son. As well as many other situations in which we are offended. What does this lead to and how do we get offended – these were the main issues of the meeting.

Have you ever wondered to see the fruits that God grows in the hearts of people? We want to tell you about the Smilovichi orphanage, which we have been visiting this month. We had several visits where we could see the changes in the hearts of the children.
This month there was an unusual situation – the children approached us and asked the Bible, because they haven’t had their own. After some time, when we phoned to the teachers, we were told that the children had already read dozens of pages in their Bibles. I want to give praise to God for opening children’s hearts for wanting to know him more. In addition, this month we talked about why we need a church. We showed and told the children that God wants to communicate with them and that they can find fellowship with believers in the church and listen to the Word of God.
One of the topics of our meeting was obedience. At the beginning there was a game in which the children had to collect their paper cards of a special color. But there were another cards that were not necessary to collect with a lot of interesting things. Therefore, the children had to make decisions about whether they obey the rules of the game or not. It is noteworthy that there were those who obeyed, as well as those who showed disobedience. And after such an example, we began to talk with the children about what benefits we have in life, if we show obedience to our teachers, and most importantly – obedience to God. A week later we discussed the topic of Mercy and Compassion on the example of the story of the Good Samaritan. This simple story was an example of the fact that we should have these qualities in our life. After all, God is compassionate and merciful to us. We also talked about such a feeling as envy. Told some examples about the pros and cons of this emotion. After that we decided to get rid of envy in our life.
In general, the month in the Smilovichi orphanage turned out to be quite eventful. We are very glad that we can attend Him, and even more be joyful because God is working in this orphanage. Therefore, we hope that God can convey this joy to you – to everyone who is not indifferent to the orphans of Belarus and everyone who helps us sow God’s word in the lives of the children.

Hello dear brothers and sisters as well as our regular readers in whose hearts God has put the love for orphans!
The academic year began and when we arrived to Smilovichi, we saw new children. When a child comes to a boarding school, he or she is very constrained and trusts very few people. Betrayal of parents begins to be painted invented as a defensive reaction, an imaginary world. “Why did you come to the orphanage? – I asked. And child told: “I do not know, everything was fine. My mother drank, but not much. “” The child, without understanding himself, began to embellish the situation and shield his mother. Most of the children who enter orphanages are children with live parents. Fear and shame make these children very vulnerable.
We began to teach about the basics of faith. When we talked about prayer, I asked the children if somebody ever prayed for them, most of them answered “no”. After this topic, the teacher explained that prayer really helps not only to open and speak out, but also allows the child to be safe. After all, God accepts all and does not look at their history! It’s nice to realize that there are people who help children to overcome the crisis of change (when children come from the family to the orphanage)!
When we started the topic “The book that changed millions of people,” it turned out that children do not have a single Bible and living in the 21st century they hear the Bibical stories for the first time. Every time we come to the orphanage, we see how the children starting to be openhearted and happily retell everything that was said at our previous meetings. “Can The Bible be interesting?” – to the teacher’s question, we say: “Of cource it can!” With personal communication, children talk about their desires and dreams to return to the family more quickly, they are dreaming about that parents will stop drinking and start paying attention to them, which every child need. We began to pray for about a month about worries of the children and God answered! Brother and sister who were in the orphanage were taken back to the family! Everything became possible due to the fact that someone stood in the gap and started to pray for the children! The children themselves are happy to tell us about how God answers our joint prayers, through which faith is born in children’s hearts. Small victories claim strong faith!

Good day! Our school year comes to end. This month we have told the last lessons to the children. During these classes we continued to tell them stories from the Bible. And of course, we have played a lot and sang songs about God. This month we even learned one new song that the children really liked.
At our meetings we talked about Daniel. They told how he and his people were captured by Babylon. And also about how God blessed him, and he became an adviser to the king. We told the story of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, about how God saved the friends of Daniel. In addition, we told a story about the words that God wrote on the wall of Belshazzar and the story of how envious people framed Daniel, but God protected him.
This month was especially remembered by a girl. Her name is Alina. Usually she behaves very modestly, tries not to participate in anything. By the way, we do not force the guys to be at our meetings, so everyone who comes to us is the decision of the child himself. Alina came to our meetings, but she refused to sing and did not participate in the games. But in one of the lessons, when they offered to tell the story that was at the last meeting, something unexpected happened. Alina, who was usually silent, told exactly the whole story about Daniel, about how he got into slavery, and about how the king told the dream. She remembered all the subtleties and, most importantly, remembered the conclusions that we got from this story. It was just awesome!
When you see that children who listen quietly, remember everything carefully, you start to rejoice, because through this God will act in their hearts and change the lives of children.
I am very happy that many understand us, and do not forget about the orphans in Belarus. Praise God for you! Let’s hope that further we can together with you serve God and help orphans in their difficult lives!

Children are always happy to see us.
It happens that the relationship in the orphanage between the children is very complicated. Because many of them want at least somehow to be above the rest, and the more so, no one likes when they are humiliated. Maybe this is not noticeable at the first acquaintance with the children, but sometimes, when you often communicate with them, you can see how secretly they “show where your place”, if someone tried to do what they couldn’t.
To some extent, our visits are a distraction from finding out the relationship between each other and the opportunity to see another world – a world full of love and grace. On our meetings you can be one team for an hour, without resenting each other.
Interesting biblical stories can help us to become a team.
This month, the children listened to stories about Joseph. For a few weeks the children was listening stories, and, with the help of pictures, became participants in the events that were in the life of Joseph. They faced the dislike that Joseph felt, with the betrayal of the brothers, tired to feel the emotions of Joseph, who were sold into slavery. We learned what Patifar’s wife made to Joseph, how he was feeling in prison, and how he became the second after Pharaoh.
But the most important thing is that the children listened that Joseph trusted God in all his difficulties. We listened to how he evaluated his actions not only with moral criteria, but also with God’s criteria. This allowed Joseph to live a life with God. And we told this to the children.
In addition, this month we had a meeting in which children made crafts with their own hands, which were useful for them (the guys did photo frames), and well-remembered about our meetings.
