In May: “Our ministry to the little ones”

Posted: May 29, 2013 by Dobr9k in Grozovo

This month the children were waiting for us as always with anticipation and joy! They greeted us as if he had not seen for a very long time. They were 0jzDeqAj5bYhappy to share their experiences, dDSC01612id not want to leave when the program ended, and even more they do not want to let us go home. Everyone wanted to talk to us as much as possible.

We spent a lot of their time outdoors, playing different games, as well as communicated in classes where Bible studies were conducted on different subjects. If we consider only the period of May, and for the year as a whole, it is clear that many kiddies have changed for the better. Several children: Juliana, Mary, Nikita, Valya, Kiril were not 105670799_304169994afraid to pray in front of everyone, but before that theDSC01650y were shy with each other. They try to help each other and learn to listen to each other, even though it is do not always work. But, at least, is very noticeable that they genuinely want it and do not deny that when they are told that they are doing wrong things. We were very happy to see how the children are open to us, they trust us and they want to spend as much time with us together as possible! Thank God for these children! Only He can change our hearts and the hear105670799_304169876ts of these kids!

In addition, this month, separately for the younger kids, was organized children’s puppet show. Through the dolls children can hear abo105670799_304169526ut the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross of Calvary. Subject performance was dedicated to the Easter holiday. Thank God for that time, so it was an opportunity to show the children that Easter – is not just a fragrant bread and colored eggs! Now they know that Easter – is primarily a celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, who suffered for everyone!

We believe that with God every child’s life can change, because God helps to get up when we can not do it!

For the last four months we were able to arrange several events for those who graduated from different orphanages.  We had been working with them closely grUY-o1X3Zcfor around 8 years.  On February the first _aJ_OWNWZBQwe visited a girl who was a recent student. She now lives and studies in Dzerzhinsk.  Her name is Marina. Marina’s life is not easy. She got pregnant when she was 15 years old. Because of that she was not able to graduate from school. She gave birth to a boy when she was 16. When her boyfriend found out she was pregnant, he left her. He got married to another girl shortly after he broke up with Marina. Marina’s son is 4 already. He is in an orphanage also. Marina will be able to take her son live with her only when she graduates from college, finds a job and a place to live. MPuH2h1t43Kkarina misses her child a lot. She cries very often wishing to take her son from the orphanage. We are trying to support her and stay in touch with her. We visit her sometimes, and also bring her to DSC00168the orphanage to her child. Also, Marina has many health problems. She spends a lot of time at the hospital. We are trying to help her as much as we can. We also introduced her to a pastor of a local church and his family. We are asking to remember Marina in your prayers, so she could find hope in the Lord.
On the last Saturday of March we managed to have a meeting with the graduates from Slyzhsk’s orphanage, which was closed in 2010. The children were distributed to other orphanages. When we met, the weather was great! There were no such surprises as snow storms (as it sometimes happens). The students were able to be there on time with no problems. It was also great that almost everyone who was DSC00700invited made it there. Some of theDSC00717m stayed from the beginning till the end, some of them just came to stay for a little bit; however, overall it was good for them to stay at least for some time. Also, the leaders had more opportunity to spend some time with some of the students individually.
Our meeting was very bright and lively. The students were very glad to see not only each other, but also the teachers whom they first met while being at school. We made a dinneDSC00713r for them, so we had a chance to talk to each other more. Later, we spent some time remembering the past while looking at the pictures of our previous meetings. We were taking a lot of pictures when we visited them, when we played sports, when we arranged summer camps, etc. We remembered a couple of games we were playing with them a long time ago at school. It DSC09578was really funny and enjoyable. We spent a lot of time talking, laughing, singing, and playing. However, the most important part is that at the end of our evening the leader of our team was able to share the Gospel with the students.
Besides that, not a long time ago we arranged a meeting for the students from Belinich’s orphanageDSC09587, who live in Bobruisk now. These students have either physical or mental illnesses. It was amazing that despite of their conditions, their hearts were open to God’s Word!  The local church does a great job serving them.DSC09594 Praise the Lord! Unfortunately, not every church is so open to such children willing to care and support them. Our main goal is to draw these children to a local church.
Also, we would like to mention that it is great that God is using such things as the Internet. The social network helps us to find the students with whom we lost any contact. We talk to them through the Internet and invite them to our events. We are planning to arrange such meeting in future, if God allows it. We would like to visit the students from different orphanages, so the distance between us reduces. The wish of our hearts is that they meet the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as their personal Savior.

DSC01510Hello everyone! I would like to tell you about our visits to Belinichi orphan school. This month the children had a chance to hear different stories from DSC01468the Bible. They became familiar with such biblical characters as Ismael and Hagar, Anna and Samuel. Through these stories we were sharing with the children how thoughtful our God is, and that He answers people’s needs. At the end of each story there were a conclusion which illustrated the Lord’s qualities, and also how they could use the stories as examples in their own lives. The children were listening very carefully. They remembered every story plot and even names because they knew they were going to be rewarded for it.DSC01503 They were given sweets afterwards. The sweet treats wDSC00956ere delicious; however, it was not that easy to get it because the questions were hard enough. In every question we tried to mention the important key points from the stories, so they could remember all the details better.
It’s interesting that after every lesson, when we gather together, a lot of kids follow us to our cars offering their help. I am still surprised how warm they treat us and how they show us their love. I believeDSC01458 God haDSC01469s been changing their hearts. I am also glad that the relationships between the children are also getting better. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unpleasant situations happen every day. But we remember that our goal is to come there and show them the way God teaches us to love each other. We want them to know the only one true way to Heavens, which is our Lord Jesus Christ. We would like them to have a personal and deep relationship with Him.
We would like to thank everyone who remembers our ministry and these orphan children. Thank you for your financial support and prayers! God bless you all!
