“November 08 is the World Day of Prayer for Orphans. If you care about the futures of orphans, you can make a difference! You may not only pray for orphans during the day, but also visit them in orphanages, run charity campaigns at you local church or organization. Besides that, during your church service you may devote sermons, songs, poems etc. to this issue.”

In October: “Rudensk orphanage”

Hello dear reader! Thank God that this month we had the opportunity to go to the boarding school. But unfortunately, due to the situation with covid-19, it was not possible to stay there for a full month. Dear brothers and sisters, let us pray that this virus soon loses its power and be gone! Thanks to every person who prays for children and our team. Every time we come to school, we see that the children start to rejoice and smile. When we see them, they run and hug us and talk about how they are doing. It’s so great to watch their emotions because they are sincere! This month we continued to talk about David with the children. We remembered who David was, the guys said that God was with David, and this was expressed in deeds. For example: when a lion or a bear attacked David, He killed them with his bare hands. The guys also recalled that if there are any difficulties in life, then you need to turn to God, and He will definitely help! The second case was in the classroom, I was telling the children a story about David and Goliath. And there was such a moment. From history, when King Saul asked David why do you think that you will defeat him? I asked the children what do you think? What did David say? And the Children say “I will win it, because God is with me” and then I asked this, why will he win? And the children answer “because God is with me” and I asked a couple of times, and the guys were so inspired and straight, shouting that God is with them, and He will help in any situation. It was a bit like in a medieval movie about war when knights stand against each other and they are motivated to win, and they shout like “God is with us”. I think the guys will remember this for the rest of their lives, that God is with them, and He will help them if they turn to Him. With the adolecents, we talked about the importance of dreaming. Because when we dream, then we more specifically understand what we want to achieve in life. And when we reveal our good plans and dreams to God, then He will help, because for God nothing is impossible. The main thing is to build a personal relationship with God, trust Him and also take steps towards God and your dream. Beside this the adolecents had an autumn photo session. For them, it was something unexpected and joyful at the same time. At the begining some guys were a little embarrassed when they were photographed, but after a while they did it with great pleasure. Also this month we met with some graduates of the Rudensky boarding school who are now studying or working in different cities. The life of the guys after graduating from the boarding school goes in different ways. They find themselves in a variety of living conditions or in circumstances that are still difficult for them to cope with on their own. That is why we try to pay special attention to graduates. I really liked the meeting with the guys who are now in Vileika. We managed to gather the children in a local church and introduce them to a pastor who gladly accepts orphans and helps boarding school graduates. We could freely and in simplicity communicate with the children, eat pizza together, drink tea and learn about how their life is going after leaving the boarding school. In the end, we prayed with them, and then gave out some gift sets to the guys. The guys exchanged phone numbers with the pastor from Vileika. We really hope that they will be open to God and start attending the local church. Be blessed!

In October: ”Belinichy orphanage”

Hello dear friends! We live during hard times, but life goes on! This month we visited Belynic boarding school. I am glad that in difficult times like these we have the opportunity to serve God in places that need Him the most! This month we started a series of talks: “Your time has come.” This topic has prompted many children and adolescents to build a closer relationship with God. Orphans often look at their lives like this: “Well, as soon as that perfect moment comes, then I will make a decision.” Children often dream about the future, forgetting that they live in the present. That’s why, we think that by skipping the “today”, they are deprived of their “tomorrow”. How do we identify it? The fact that many want a good job, but are too lazy to do their homework, someone dreams of health, but continues to run out into the street dressed in summer clothes on the cold days, and then gets sick for a long time, since the immunity is already not in a good condition. Children come up to us and tell us that they do not sleep well at night and ask us to pray for them. When I ask the guys if they are praying themselves, someone says yes, and someone answers that they forget about it. The purpose of the talks held in boarding schools is to push children to a solution. Decisions are made every day. It is sometimes difficult for children to make up their minds because of low self-esteem and childhood trauma. But thanks to our seminars, children gradually overcome their insecurities, as well as their fears. I’m glad to see how kids change! The teachers come up to us and tell that the kids are becoming more confident. Thank God for these results! When we were in the boarding schools, children told us that they prayed that our team would be allowed to come to them. Now they can see how God answers their prayers! We meet weekly with the children at the boarding school and pray that covid-19 will be done for as soon as possible. Despite the masks and the distance, the children say that they miss the times when they could freely come closer and hug us, because they really lack hugs.  Also teachers are facing some challenges and win battles! After conversing with us, they often ask: “How do you not lose your optimism during this time?” I said that we’ve found encouraging words in the Bible and realized that everything will be fine for those who believe in God! Sometimes you can hear: “ Judging by what we see, Dmitry, we understand that you are full of faith in good.” And I say, “I just don’t watch the news.” Fear infiltrates small cities through uncertainty about the future and virus data. But we know that God warned about such hardships long time ago. Through speaking with us, teachers can see how the Bible does not lose its relevance. For our team, October is a month of opportunities, and we are so excited about it! We are glad that we can serve both big causes and the small ones! This new school year has brought us over 15 new children who are not familiar with the gospel at all. Let’s pray that our Heavenly Father will open the hearts of children, and that the word, like a seed, will be sown and grow in children’s hearts! We thank everyone who is praying for Ministry to orphans in Belarus! These children, during the pandemic, were left alone to face problems in their lives and they need the hope that only God can give!

In October: “Smilovichi orphanage”

In October, we haven’t come to the Smilovichi orphanage due to the fact that Alina was taken into a new foster family, and there were no other children in the orphanage. We can see how the Lord answers to the prayers of children for new parents and good families!) Last Tuesday we have come to Nastya, she is 9 years old and she was taken away from her Mother for the first time. From Nastya’s words, we know that her mother drinks alcohol and her roommate beat her mother and children. Nastya was often bruised, she has been living with fear and hid from her mother’s friend. She said that she constantly prayed to God and He protected her and sent kind people (believing neighbors) who, with the permission of her mother, took her to Sunday school. Recently, Nastya asked the Lord for a calm life, without violence and beatings. She is very glad that she in the shelter now, she says: I feel safe and not nervous. We supported Nastya and talked about God’s love and about people who refuse to live with Him on the example of those who lived in the time of Noah. Our goal was to show the mercy and care of the Heavenly Father and how He miraculously preserved the lives of Noah’s family and the entire generation of people.
