In April: ”Belinichy orphanage”

Praise God for the opportunity to visit children in Belynichi! See how they grow. Communicate with them. Maintain friendship. Learn together the Bible, pray, talk about God, have fun and play.
In this month, relay races were held for the teens. The guys are very fond of competitions. There were also Bible lessons: “Daniel and his friends”, “Daniel’s loyalty and the lion’s ditch,” and “God’s love and the deed of Christ on Calvary.”
In this month was Easter. When you ask the guys a question: “What is Easter?” – most often you hear that Easter is a day when everyone is painting eggs and making pastries. Unfortunately, only few of the guys know the true essence of the words “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!”. So I really wanted to convey the real meaning of Easter. To this end, we invited a puppet show. Through the play, the children saw the story of Easter and once again they could hear about what a feat Jesus Christ performed on the Calvary cross.
For the middle group of children, Bible lessons were held about Anna and her prayer, God’s answer and the life of her son with the priest of Elijah. I wanted to convey to children the importance of prayer. I brought two phones and we talked to each other. The guys took turns telling me their dreams. Someone wants to fly on a plane, someone to visit space.
But mostly, they dream about their family. Roma boy told me that his parents in heaven, and he really wants a foster family. Continuing the conversation, I noticed the guys that they are now a big family and should help each other. And how they talked to me, so thay can talk with God. Many guys have expressed a desire to pray.
The small children continued to study the history of the life of Moses. In the children’s reactions it was obvious how sorry they were to people who were slaves in Egypt, as they wanted justice, how the Egyptian Pharaoh they believed an evil man and how thay was in love with Moses and marveled at how God worked through him miracles and saved His people.
They were so impressed with the story of Moses, and asked us to remember this Bible story to each lesson. Yeah, maybe we will come back to this story, but I think that the children also really like the example of the life of Joseph! It is with this biblical character we plan to introduce kids in next month.

In March: “Vileyka orphanage”

Why do I go to the Vileysky orphanage? There are many answers, but there are two main reasons: I love God and I love people. The children who were left by parents in an orphanage and Children of God, all of us can meet in the orphanage. When I look in their faces I see pain, loneliness, fear. And because of it there is a strong wish to tell them about God who is always near us. The one who will not betray. Sometimes we are just talking to children about their lives.
My group is not the oldest one, but they have very deep eyes. Christ has told that for those there is a Kingdom. I want that they would know Him, and He will enter to lives of each child and become their Father. They have sometimes a bad behavior (almost every time), but when you take their hand – you forgive all. Sometimes I even don’t know: who needs more this trips – they or me. We are changing together, together we learn about God, together we grow in some way. I know that they don’t remember a lot of things. However, I believe that what we have seeded will bear a fruit. There is only one truth: the word is a Christ. And He has risen.
I am always glad to be in this orphanage and I am glad for those children who are going with us. Perhaps, it is hardly noticeable ministry for all, but I believe that the sky smiles when we go to Vileyka. I understand that the great King is always with us and if He is with us, then all the rest isn’t so important.

In February: “Vileyka orphanage”

In February, we had a great time at our traditional meetings with children. Especially it is great when we have an opportunity to communicate personally with children. This month I gave made friends with the teenager, his name is Arthur. In spite of the fact that he has mother, he is in the shelter. He is one of the most interested children at our meetings. He always asks about the theme and he is always interested in what we are talking about. Recently Arthur said that we are the closest friends to him.
In one of Saturdays, our traditional culinary club took place on February 18. As always, Valera with the team of partial brothers and sisters from our church held the master class, which is wide popular among children. The day before members of Bethlehem church have prepared / have bought and have brought sweets. The team generously treated with all this sweets visitors of culinary classes.
Unfortunately, we can’t pay attention on every child because of scantiness of our resources. Some of the children forget to come to the meetings because they have other alternatives: take a walk around the city, watch the movie or something else. Our prayer to God is to gain children’s attention on Christian values and to show true sense of life.

“November 13 is the World Day of Prayer for Orphans. If you care about the futures of orphans, you can make a difference! You may not only pray for orphans during the day, but also visit them in orphanages, run charity campaigns at you local church or organization. Besides that, during your church service you may devote sermons, songs, poems etc. to this issue.”
