Hello Dear Friends!
Time flies so fast that often I do not notice how everything has changing around me. For example I do not notice how children that we come to visit grow older. So sometimes I take a pause, look around and evaluate what I have achieved and where should I go next?
Thus this month we decided to evaluate what have
we achieved in Rudensk orphanage. For this reason this month in our meetings we talked on the subjects of “Why do we need Bible?”, “Why do we need faith in God?”, “Why do we believe in God?” When Dima raised the subject of faith he started to ask our team members these kin
d direct questions in front of orphans. For example he asked “Why do you believe in God?”, “Why your faith gives you?” The answers were very sincere because Dima did not warn us what kind of questions he is going to ask us. Therefore the children listened to the answers with extreme attention 🙂 After that Dima explained to children why he himself believes by using photo slides and Bible passages.
In addition this month we talked on the subject of love. Although we do not celebrate Valentin’s day it was a great opportunity to explain to children that there are different kinds of love
. We hoped that it will lead the children to think about their relationship with each other. We spoke bluntly that some people love only themselves. But the true love is this that you are caring for the person you love!
In our last meetings we watched an interesting Christian movie that raises the subjects of loneliness, suicide, teenage egoism, divorce of parents and the subject of Christian hypocrisy, when a person behaves well in the church but outside the church lead immoral life.
Time flies, children grow older and change. Sometime they change to the better side but sometimes unfortunately for the worse side. But we try very hard to do everything we can to help orphans to choose what is right so one day they would be able to meet God.
We thank everyone who prays for us and helps us!
We chose the Book of Books – the Bible as the main subject of our conversations with
children in February.
We spoke with children why the Bible takes special place among a huge set of books (fantastic, informative, scientific, and different others). Because the Creator of the wor
ld speaks about Himself in it. He says how people should be with Him. The Bible tells stories of people who loved God, and teaches us to take example from them. Why do we read the Bible? We read it to understand what the Creator expects from us,to learn to live so that to b
ecome his children.
It seems to me very important to tell the children about it. There is a wish to believe that everything what they heard will help them in their future and that among many ways they will be able to distinguish and choose the correct one, and they will be able to avoid terrible mistakes and sins, having remembered the Creator.
I can’t but tell about children, and those discoveries which you make thanks to communication with them. It is not just about us teaching them. It is more. So, this month we run sport competitions with strong support of fans. We, teachers, also participated in the competitions.
These games really united us: children and leaders who run together with them, children among themselves. Children though compete, but they also worry about each other. They are able to come to the rescue. One girl, Polina was especially remembered to me: she was so attentive to her friends, she helped all. She rushed to catch a ball, to help the friend after a command “to jump” to jump in a bag!
I like to see these children open and sincere. They don’t pretend they are sincere. None of them should be persuaded, they are all very active.
There is time for everything under the sun. And it’s high time now to have a look at what
was going on in Grozovo boardi
ng school. We’ve been visiting boys and girls regularly this month. There are more girls than boys at our fellowship at the moment, but it’s not a problem to have fun together and teach them God’s truth. Everyone celebrates St.Valentine’s Day on the 14th February, the day of couples who are in love. It didn’t elude us either: we’ve been talking about different stages of love, what are its
characteristics and what is true love. Everyone was interested and excited to talk about it.
We also discussed such topics as “Laziness and what remedies we should use to fight it”, “How to be content”, “The envy”. Obviously, most people understand that
it is not good to be lazy, dissatisfied or to envy someone. But unfortunately, not everyone tries to change. We encouraged guys to do their best not to let envy and laziness in to their lives. We tried to sho
w that God considers it to be bad and judges it.
Everyone agreed. But any way now we should pray that the Word will change their way of thinking, their behaviour and actions and will change their lives for good. We’ve been praising the Lord in singing altogether recently. Everyone loves to sing joyful songs. Everyone loves worshiping Him. Lyrics of songs are a great testament for children when they can think them over and meditate on them, pray or just sing along. We thank God that we have people in our team who serve the Lord in music ministry!
That’s the way we spend time with our friends!
Another month has come to an end. God has given us the opportunity to serve His
children. I am very grateful God for strength, time, desire, and especially for the love
that I feel more and more toward these children! This month, we talked about Jesus Christ with our older children. We discussed the meaning of the phrase “your sins are forgiven” if you believe in Him. We tried to paint it in pictures. The younger children learned the basics of the Bible, that is this wonderful book, who wrote it and why, and also made small “mini Bibles” with his own hands. Moreover, we reminded all children that they are special to God because He created them and gave them special
noses, ears, and eyes….! Cartoon by Lu
cado “You are special” helped us to do this. We learned the song from the movie and came up our own movements. This month, the population of orphanage has increased by 4 kids. They are all brothers and sisters. The younger brother (7 years old) was sent in hospital right away. He has some problems with his heart! We are grateful to God that the other 4 children returned to their families. Pray for the families of these children to change and them to return home. Also pray for the sown seed to grow in their hearts and their parents to be influenced through their children!
We are glad that on February we had an opportunity to visit orphanages. Usually we didn’t visit children in winter because lots of them caught a cold. In our country February was the coldest and severe month.
Sometimes even classes at school were cancelled because of this. But this year Jesus blessed us with a very worm winter. There’s no snow outside, and the weather is good. Schools weren’t closed this year, that’s why we could visit children in the orphanages.
We talked about Joseph, a very good biblical character, and recalled the story of Cain and Abel. We talked about consequences of pride. The greatest example of which was the story of The Tower of Babel. One of our classes we dedicated to art.
Together with children we molded salt dough crafts. Children were meant to make gifts for each other: girls had to make gifts for boys on Defender of the Fatherland Day, and boys had to make gifts for girls on the International Women’s Day. In spite of these holidays are not Christian, we decided to spend this time so that children could make something pleasant for each other. They did make the crafts with pleasure! In the nearest future the orphanage is going to be closed, and children are unlikely to meet up again. That’s why we are willing to do our best for their relationships.
