In March: “Smilovichi orphanage”

This month we had one visit more to the Smilovichi orphanage. At the momeIMG_7960nt, there have become IMG_7459more children again and there are still more boys. Many children went to new families or permanent orphanages. But some new children also came, who are are in abeyance. As these children are from different age groups and the make-up of children often changes, we made a decision to discuss with them the most significant and at the same time simple for their perception topics. In March we discussed such themes as: ‘Prayer is a talk with God’, ‘God accepts us just as we are’, ‘The Bible is the word of God’, ‘God’s features’. Some children heard about God for the first time and prayed with us.
The reason foIMG_7941r our special joy is the attitude oIMG_7936f governors to the children and to us. They gather the children and bring them to our meetings. We see their love and care for the children. Glory to God! It is revealed in the children’s behavior. They always try to take part in all our activities and don’t just listen to the stories during biblical lessons, but participate in dialogues and even learn the lessons. We have also noticed that the children in this orphanage are keen on crafts. So, we devoted the whole hour to the crafts during one of our visits. We printed the photos and the children made frames for them. It was a good time becauIMG_7468se each member of the team was able to devote his/her attention to 1-2 IMG_7385children and not just help them with crafts but communicate with them closer.
Next month the children and we are waiting for the Easter day. It is a good opportunity to tell the children about the feat of Jesus Christ. And it will enable the children to know more about God and develop their artistic abilities, because we are planning to make ornaments for the holiday together with them.

In March: ”Belinichy orphanage”

It was a special month working with the kids from the orphanage in Belynichy! The team was IMG_7433participating in the lives of these kids by pIMG_7511rayer and seeking solutions of problems many of them face, especially those who graduate. Sowing God’s seeds in them is not in vain. Many of them a thinking about continuously seeking God in their lives – praise the Lord! Our prayer request is for the hearts and their future lives: when they leave the orphanage, they won’t be lost but found for the kingdom IMG_7507of God.
This month we’ve been learning “The Prayer” unit, and also we’ve told children bible stories about Lazer and rich man and about Kind preacher. Through these stoIMG_7436ries we wanted to show children how to make a right choice and also we were trying to show how much our Lord loves every one of us and shows His care. Younger group learned the story about Abraham and David. They also had an opportunity to watch good Christian cartoon about the gift Jesus gave to us.
Also we managed to order tables, chairs and developing games for defectology class. Now children will be able to have classes in well-maintained class, using developing games and stuff like that. Praise the Lord and thanks to everyone who takes part in this ministry!

The spring and warmth have finally come and it’s not so terrible to look at children who usually Zz4O0xt7sPg meet us only in T-shirts as during the winter they didn’t want to listen to us and put on warmer clothes. Here image-495bd6d3119df9e8d9283360791adae362add0967c0a3f79bbaa7252d89868bf-Vis the time to play different games with children and we decided to coincide the pleasant with the useful. For this purpose we invited young people from Christian sports club “AWANA”. We asked the administration to give us children and the gym for several hours and they were happy to let them go with us as they could have some rest. Children were happy when saw 2 buses filled with young people. They were all getting acquainted GPr4bapNd2wactively and communicating with each other. In the gym we split the children into 4 groups (as there were about 60 children) and there we had the first part of our service – relay race. The children competed with each other and got points. After that, there was the second part of the service – the lesson. The team leaders split into different subteams in different corners of the gym where they held lessons. After the lessons leaders asked questions and9SIggwkFJEo those who answered correctly, got points for their teams too. The topic of the lesson was “Friendship” viewed through the example of David and Jonathan. The context of the lesson was that Jesus is our friend and we can have the same relations with Him as David and Jonathan had. The third part of our service was the closing part – the conclusions made after the lesson, singing Christian songs image-d3501eb408a42e77fc39dcb588eb14df1ccb01032858154a61519a3ccc2a2a89-Vand presenting sweets to the teams who scored the majority of the points. But no one was left unnoticed as the winners shared their sweets with all the children. And we were happy to see that the lesson wasn’t in vain. So we spent 3 hours with children and they didn’t want us to leave them. The “AWANA” leaders liked this meeting and wanted to come back in April.
On our next meetings we strengthened the topic “Friendship” and told the children how to be a true friend on the examples of Peter and Jesus himself. We told about their trust, treason and forgiveness. In spite of all these things, they preserved their friendship and it became stronger. We wanted children to do the same in their lives as we noticed that instead of forgiving they start revenging, betraying, even beating each other. After that meeting some of them promised to change their behavior. We pray about our friends for God to change their hearts, characters. And also we ask God to open their hearts to accept Jesus as their Savior.
