The long anticipated snowy winter has finally come to our country.
Children and adults alike are filled with joy at the sight of the mounds of snow, the crisp winter air, and the great opportunity to ice skate, ski and sled
. There have been days in which due to the large amounts of snow it was difficult to get to our kids. We had a little less travel to Smilovichi than usual. At the current moment in our shelter there are 9 children, a few of which we have known for a long time. However, there are several new children that we have only known for a short time. Our children are a variety of ages. Due t
o this we have to select lesson plans that are suitable for young children and teenagers. At one of our meetings we reviewed the Bible stories we had already been over with the children. It brought me great joy to see that the children remembered the Bible storie
s we had taught them. At the last meeting we taught the children about the miracles that Jesus performed while He was on the Earth. As an example of Jesus’ miracles we used the stories about Jesus walking on water, and the story of the blind man name
d Bartimaeus. We used the stories to teach the children that if we believe and trust God that He can do amazing miracles in our lives. However, if we loose heart and begin to doubt God we miss out on so much. Since there are younger children sitting in on the lessons we always try to have a coloring sheet that goes along with the theme of the lesson.
We use the coloring sheets as a visual aid to the story.
This month we also had the opportunity to give each child a personal hygiene kit. We also gave them, a sweet treat at the end of each lesson. Therefore, we are especially grateful to those who help our ministry financially!

Greeting you my friends!
January turn out with bright impressions and memories: kids faces, their smile, happiness and a fire full of hope, wish burning up in their hearts. This month we could of work with kids from Belinichу boarding school. No matter that it was an eve and vacations, many kids
were supposed to stay for the whole period in the boarding school. Year by year passing by, and they are waiting for the miracle to happen- that someone will take them home. Sometimes “home”-its battered word and mostly child doesn’t give it any importance? But those kids are dreaming and praying to leave the boarding school even for the events .They in need of love and care, like a kids, who has a family.
9th of January with the team more that 30 people went to organize special days for kids. Kids watched a big Christmas show invo
lving adults and kids. The atmosphere that day was really festive. Kids seen not only the performance but also they could of hear a new Christian songs from a kids choir? Also could play a games and talk to volunteers ? who organized that for them. The meeting ended with a nice thing- giving presents.
Throughout the month, we came to the guys every Thursday, despite the snow and sometimes big snowfall. Bible lessons were held as a teenage, so as babies. Older children raised such topics as: “Lies”, “theft” and “laziness.” But the kids continued to get acquaint
ed with the biblical stories of the New Testament: “The story of the rich man and Lazarus,” “About 10 lepers” and “prayer of the Pharisee and the publican.”
Despite the diagnosis of children, we see how the guys are changing for the better side, especially in relationships with each other and also with teachers. Children learn the skills of the Christian life. It remains to pray and believe that they will not forget what they hear on our lessons and will take this knowledge’s in their life, even when they will go on their own life, without the boarding. And, perhaps, I wont be mistaken if I say that the main thing in our travels – is changed life of an orphaned child, in which there is a believe that anything is ti happen in life- there is nothing impossible for God!
Hello!
Visits to Rudensk in January started from a big theatrical performance about the Birth of Jesus Christ. The performance gathered all the children and teachers of the orphanage. Afterwards every child received a long-awaited
Christmas present.
Besides that, we also held a guy’s party and a girl’s party this month. Together with boys we discussed how important it is to strive for something in life. We were thinking about the necessity of dreaming more, setting more goals in life and wanting to achieve them. We discussed that often we are wasting our time and that one should listen to the advice of the elders,
and that it is also possible to achieve the best results only through hard work. Together with girls we were discussing abortion and its consequences. We read real life stories where women shared the experience they had to live through and how badly they regret doing the abortion.
During next meetings we discussed themes “lies” and “theft”. We showed to the children that after an easy benefit there comes a bitter forfeit. Temporary success gained from lies or theft returnes as a punishment not only form people but also from God. We tried to vary every meeting with singing, playing games, watching video clips. We also have a good tradition to congratulate the birthday person. Everyone says their wishes to the birthday person and after that we pray for him/her altogether.
More and more new children who had not appeared before come to visit our meetings. We try to create pleasant atmosphere during our discussions to make the meetings not only interesting but also useful. We see that the relationships between children become better. They quarrel less, respect and support each
other more. We are very glad that God lets us continue going to the orphanages in spite of facing various difficulties both financial and spiritual. But the work continues, and we thank God and those who pray for us. Thank you for participating in this ministry!
In January: “Christmas action for disabled children”
Posted: January 7, 2016 by Dobr9k in UncategorizedVileyka at the end of the year!
Hello to our page readers! We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May God bless you in this year and give health and willing to serve Him more and more.
Together with our team we work in Vileyka’s orphanage and learn the Old Testament. I understand how important it is as children almost don’t know the Bible and God and we want to teach them in a simple way. We like doing it as we see that children have an interest to know God. I am sure that He will work in their hearts.
We have learnt the stories about Joseph and Moses. Children liked Joseph, his character and his fidelity to God. Children wanted to be like him having such traits of character as kindness, wisdom, patience in the situation when he became the second person after the pharaoh and especially when he forgave his brothers. The story about Moses wasn’t so interesting for children as that of the plague of Egypt. We told about Pasch as children
didn’t know what it is.
On Christmas Eve we had the Advent Season and told the story of Christ’s birth. We solidified children’s knowledge by the trip to Minsk to church Bethlehem. Children had a wonderful opportunity to hear about Jesus from Christmas direction. During the performance we all sang “O, Holy Night”, heard the preach, had an amazing dinner and of course got presents that were collected by the members of the church. It was such a good time. Everybody liked that evening and we got hope that Jesus could be born in their hearts too. That would be the best gift for them.
That is how we spent the last month of this year. We hope that the next year will be fruitful for children and us. We hope we will be more helpful to these children.
